Resources and Opportunities @ IU

The Office of National Scholarships and Awards (NSA) supports students applying to nationally competitive award programs and undergraduate research opportunities. NSA also maintains a database of awards and opportunities

The Hutton Honors College offers a wide variety of grants and awards for undergraduates at all levels and in all fields of study. Check them out here.

The Center of Excellence for Women in Technology (CEWiT) offers the Emerging Scholars Research Experiences for Undergraduate Women (CEWiT REU-W), a program that pairs first- and second-year women with faculty researchers.

The College of Arts & Sciences offers a number of undergraduate research experiences, including: the Integrated Freshman Learning Experience (IFLE), the Science, Technology, and Research Scholars (STARS) program, and the Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience (ASURE).

The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society offers the Undergraduate Research Program in the Social Sciences and Humanities (URP). The program pairs students with faculty mentors to work on a research project. 

The Office of Sustainability offers the Sustainability Scholars program. This program allows students to contribute to research projects relating to sustainability.

IU Library Resources

IU Libraries supports undergraduate researches in many ways. Among them are:

  • Research consultations. Students can schedule 60-minute, one-on-one research consultations with a Research Assistant.  This service is free and students can use it as often as they like. Schedule a consultation here
  • A series of tutorial videos to help students learn about a wide range of library resources, such as IUCAT, OneSearch, and Interlibrary Loan.
