Dove Recovery
Description
Advances in data science, specifically the increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) agents in established prediction models, enable both improved access to novel structured/unstructured data sources and to more efficiently model the co-occurring influence of these sources.
In partnership with Dove Recovery House, we will engage in:
- The identification of relevant data sources in cooperation with the State Government, non-profit organizations, county and state agencies, health insurance and health care providers, and other institutions, as well as social media groups and general support groups.
- Acquiring, aggregating, and curating the data, including structured and unstructured data formats for analysis.
- Analyzing the data to identify quantitative and qualitative data points, including their geocoordinates for geographical mapping of the most significant hotspots with maximized need for a new Dove Recovery House.
- Defining an environment and process to track dynamic changes of the data and geographical mapping over time to enable long-term tracking of areas where support projects could achieve the best results.
Goals and Learning Outcomes
Engaging undergraduate and graduate students in rigorous, high-impact research creates vital opportunities necessary for workforce development or the next stages in academic careers. This project offers the following experiential learning outcomes for undergraduate student mentees:
- Communicate with key stakeholders about the state and needs of WSUD living in Indiana.
- Support an interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and staff on research and community matters.
- Learn about the research process through needs-based research designs and AI applications.
