Global Development Consulting
Description
HLS Global Development Consulting (GDC) provides students with mentored opportunities to conduct applied research in the area of global development, in partnership with development-focused organizations around the world. By examining real-world challenges and working with partners to develop practical solutions, students apply their academic knowledge to build professional skills while making a meaningful difference for our partner organizations and the communities they represent.
Goals and Learning Outcomes
- Deeper understanding of the manifestation of a development issue in a particular locale (for example: water and sanitation challenges in Chiapas, Mexico or gender-based violence in Kwale County, Kenya)
- Build academic and practical skills relevant for careers in international development (for example: analyzing program evaluation data, conducting case study research, report writing, etc.)
- Develop academic and professional networks

- Open, with an interest in HLS and School of Public Health majors, public affairs, and NGO management.
