Interested in research but not sure where to start? Indiana University Bloomington's Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URAs) are student researchers who help fellow undergraduates explore research and creative opportunities across campus. Representing a wide range of disciplines, URAs share their experiences, connect students with resources, and provide guidance to help you discover your interests, build valuable skills, and take the next step toward your academic and career goals.

Apply to be a Research Ambassador
- Promote undergraduate research opportunities
- Facilitate workshops and informational sessions
- Participate in roundtable or panel discussions
- Visit classes, student groups, and organizations to spread the word about research opportunities and events
- Mentoring/ providing advising to students including holding “office hours”
- Participate in IUJUR Research Day, USCAR, Student Involvement Fairs, Majors Minors & More Fair, IUURC, IUUR Summer Poster Symposium, Welcome Week, and other campus events
- Serve as student advisory board member for IUUR
- Write blog posts or spotlights about UR on campus
- Manage IUUR social media
- Interact with faculty and students
- Expand network
- Build your resume with great experience
- Sharing your research with others at events
- Paid opportunity: $ per hour paid bi-weekly as a university student employee with an option to have this position as a Federal Work-Study employee if student has FWS
- Applications are open to students in all majors who have conducted two semesters OR one full summer of undergraduate research, creative activity, or discipline specific scholarly work at IU
- Must attend mandatory training and weekly team meetings
- Hold in-person office hours at an on-campus location TBD
