IUUR Summer Research Program
The IUUR Summer Research Program provides undergraduate students with an on-campus, residential research opportunity over the summer. The Summer 2026 program will expand beyond STEM research.
Dates:
- The program will run for eight weeks, June 1 - July 24, 2026.
- Students will be expected to participate fully without other course or work obligations during this time.
Details:
- The program aims to increase participation across all student populations in research and is designed for students with little to no previous research experience.
- Participants will receive a $3000 stipend and will be provided on-campus housing at no cost for the duration of the eight-week program.
- Participants will receive a meal stipend which will cover some but not all meals during the program.
- Participants will work in small groups of 4-6 students with a graduate student, faculty, or post-doc mentor guiding their research.
- Research will take place in research groups across campus.
Eligibility
- Must be a currently enrolled IUB student pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2026.

- If you would like to be a mentor for summer 2026, the Project Proposal Application is due March 25, 2026 at 11:59PM.
- IUUR is also accepting applications for Peer Mentors to work with IUUR SRP participants.
