STEM Summer Research Program
The IUUR STEM Summer Research Program provides undergraduate students with an on-campus, residential research opportunity over the summer. The Summer 2025 program will have a focus on interdisciplinary research.
Dates:
- The program will run for eight weeks, June 2 - July 25, 2025.
- Students will be expected to participate fully without other course or work obligations during this time unless they receive approval from program director.
Details:
- The program aims to increase participation across all student populations in STEM disciplines and is designed for students with little to no previous research experience. All students with a strong interest in research, including women, first generation, and students with high financial need, are encouraged to apply.
- Participants will receive a $2700 stipend and will be provided on-campus housing at no cost for the duration of the eight-week program.
- Participants will receive a meal stipend which will cover some but not all meals during the program.
- Participants will work in small groups of 4-6 students with a graduate student, faculty, or post-doc mentor guiding their research.
- Research will take place in research groups across campus. Some components of the program may take place remotely as needed.
Eligibility
- Must be a currently enrolled IUB student pursuing a STEM-related degree with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2025.
